Zombie Walk & Friendly Fires

So we had the most exciting & boring weekend ever. The infamous weekend began with the realization that we actually had NO money literally:
  • Vanessa - $30CAD on Travel Money Card, $7CAD on TD Canada Card, $2.01 Cash, Plus she owed LC $15 for the most expensive milkshake in the world (but more on that later)
  • LC - $19.80CAD on Travel Money Card, $20 Cash.
So this may seem like balls loads of money for the weekend but we also had to last until Wednesday/Thursday for more money had like almost no food left in the house and we have to catch the tram everywhere which is like $2 a day becuz we are ultimate scammers. We contemplated many a plan to get our hands on all of this cash in our accounts, but instead we learnt that Canadians are not as desperate for money as Aussies. So how many of you have every brought something at Maccas/Coles/Any large corporation with EFTPOS so that you could drain the $12.65 you have left in your account to buy goon? EVERYONE! They do not do that here. Only cash out in $20 multiples. Anyways we hence solved this problem and made the following purchases:
  • Natural Yogurt, 1 Capsicum, 1 Tomato in order to make fajitas for the next 4 days food (we had a fajita kit and some chicken)
  • 7 Ciders enough for weekend activities as we had like 1/2 a bottle of vodka and lime at home
  • Vanessa drew out $20 + $3 fee leaving $7 to her name.
Now that we had our lives sorted here is how a weekend can go from being extremely boring to ledgen-wait for it and we hope you are not lactose intolerant-dary.

Friday Night - gym, watch some weird movie called Drive with Ryan Gosling as a crazed killer.

Saturday Day - Zombie Walk. Which is where about 7000 Toronto residents get all decked out in their fake blood to 'walk' around the block groaning. Oh yeah and some chick got married there too. Enter Photos:

The Wedding, yeah that lady who started the Zombie walk got married. She arrived in a herse and coffin, kinda creepy.

OMG ITS CLUEDO!!!! BEST COSTUMES EVER.

So following the Zombie Walk which we extremely underestimated the weather for (it was like 7 degrees) we were epically freezing and rushed to a super cute cafe for the aforementioned milkshake. It was from the Lakeview which is a 24hour totes indie hangout in the indie realm of Dundas West in which we live. Anyways so they had this Pie & Milkshake Special which I totes oppted for and it was amazing, amazing. LC got the Sweet Potato Fries which were also amazing. Though we got our bill and to highlight how fricking weird Canadians are the Pie & Milkshake Special is actually a dodgy looking piece of pie blended into a milkshake - ew WTFM. So this is how a milkshake costed me $15 and brought LC's available cash down to $20. Oh yeah they are also weird because they have tax and then a food tax and then you have to tip, talk about hidden fees and charges; obvs they do not have a CCC.

Anyways then we of course went to the gym and watched Edward Scissorhands, staying at home on a Saturday night - severely bleak.

Enter Sunday Day a beautiful sunny day with a top of 12degrees which translates into "YAY!!!!! OMGZ ITS SO HOT LETS GO TO THE BEACH!!!1111#!@@!?" instead we wandered the streets contemplating whether to go to Hooters for $3 pints but we ended up at the gym (which I must mention is free! because we are awesome scammers).

So its sounding like the most boring weekend of all time right right? Except for the XXX scary Zombie Walk. But then finally we got to leave the house and drink the 7 ciders. NB - over here Rekorderlig has a Elder Flower flavor and its actually really good. So then we got on the tram and showed Canadians how to street drink (no-one here drinks on Public Transport WTFM).

We then arrived at our destination the Friendly Fires Concert. We then got some guy who brought me a beer to take this photo of us:

We may not look it but I am extremely hammered. This photo we took moments before in the bathroom does lend to the idea that I am sloshed:
****insert kissing photo****

Anyways then we ran into Chris John Whiteley's identical twin who knew Jenna Beaton and is from WA!! That story will make sense to like 3 people who know both Chris and Jenna. And then the free beer guy's friend gave us a joint so we ran away from them to go be groupies at the front. Oh yeah in Canada is not a criminal offence to smoke or have weed. LC took some really bad photos on the shitty cam:

And then we proceeded to be groupies totes sneaking into the back stage area. The non-sweaty version of Friendly Fires looks like this:

Obvs they are famous becuz they have a photo shoot in a alley way & are all wearing collared shirts; hence richness is implied.

Anyways once inside backstage apartment thingy we proceeded to do what every extremely drunk and awkward concert goer does after their drunken plans to get 'backstage' have worked out... Took numerous photos with the band:

We  also ate some grapes and decided we were sick of the awkward conversations also the fact I had work the next morning at 9am prevented further drinking we naturally got them to take photos of us on stage:

And then we ran into another one of them outside and OBVS photo bombed him too.

I then went into a Indian Resturant and tried really really hard to order Cheese Naan but the guy was not having a bar of my Australian Accent so I ran away. We then missed 2 streetcars/trams because we were so drunk/high/disorientated. Then we went to the convience store and spent my only $4 on Sour Cream and Chives chips hence undoing all of those gym visits.

And that is how we had the most boring/most exciting weekend in Toronto.
Was weekend is Halloween so there will be more photos soon!
xxx
