The Big Apple.

New York. Extremely large city - totally thought I knew what it looked like... But I was wrong.
Here is a map so you all do not get super confused.
So for the first week we stayed in Brooklyn (the black dot) and the in the second week we moved over to the Upper West Side in Manhattan (the other black dot).

Here is the first half from Brooklyn....

The lovely warehouses which surrounded our hotel. We didn't really get all the fuss people make about Brooklyn we felt totally safe most of the time. Walked around at night and got lost a few times - but everyone is super friendly. Except for one night we went out to Carroll Gardens to this Indian restaurant (which was ama-zing) - we were actually THE ONLY white people and all the people were having street BBQs which we had to walk through. We bee-lined to and from the restaurant pretty quick.

Our trip to Liberty Island.
Tiny tiny liberty.

Oh yeah - the coast guard. Loaded machine guns ready to shoot anyone of middle eastern appearance.

Manhattan Skyline. Pretty cloudy day but this is the south view of the financial district, 10 years ago the twin towers stuck out like a sore thumb (e.g. below) now the skyline is more 'even' thanks Osama - too soon? Anyway the skyline extends waaaaaay north beyond this.

From the Liberty Observation Deck. We only had to go through one security check and leave all our stuff behind except cameras.

Inside Liberty.

The Famous Staten Island Ferry.

New York Stock Exchange

So what I'm going for here is the 'wall street sign' see it....

Little Italy - LC pretty much died.

Only Italians with there Madonnas.

Chinatown - I pretty much died.

A romantic twilight walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Other people and their shitty photography skills. FYI we walked literally 10-15miles that day hence the grossness.

Day Trippers to Long Beach for the Quiksilver Pro. Except we caught the bus instead of the train and it took us about 3 and a half hours to get there. So we arrived at 4pm - woops. Luckily the weather also turned out to be shit and the surfing was cancelled for that day.
Half eaten Sovlaki for Holly - fuck they were so good, hope your jealous!!

Carrot Cupcake.

The entry to Long Beach.

In the Atlantic!

The banging nightclub across from our hotel. Serious memories were made here.

Hopefully Brooklyn can handle us. Turns out they really really couldn't.
Lets just say wheel chairs we stolen, I almost got 'racist bashed', Gryffindor was called way too many times and then this guy followed us home... From one of our 10 entries to 'the club'. Oh yeah and Optimo played and we managed to score back our $20 entry fees. Best night ever (Personal Side Note: Grace - LC and I read the story of the best and worst night ever in the laundry today and realised the anniversary is coming up - plans need to be made).
He has the worst ever attempt at an Aussie Accent and coined the phrase 'Oiiiii Fucka' for the entire night. The time of this photo was approximately 5/6am.

The loverly Smith Street in Brooklyn.

The next day (or so) we walked past this place without my camera and they were filming something there was old people singing and they had changed the name - suss!

Yankee Stadium!

No wonder this hotdog cost like $5 the box was A-mazing.

The covered up field. Yeah funny story - the game was delayed for 4 hours due to 'sprinkling' literally even gayFL players would have played in that shit. Anyways needless to say as we are such die hard yankees fans we stayed til 11 when the match finally started. This is how we amused our selves for 4 hours....

Getting all macro artsy.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA this guy isn't even disabled he has a gofer because he is too fat to walk. This is like the 100th one we have seen in America, and this time we got a photo!

We also walked around the entire stadium about 4 times, went into the boxes (yess- but got told to 'walk on through') and picked up a extremely drunk fan YAY! And then this happened:

Serious fans.

We left after about 1 hour so we could catch the train home for free still. It was an extremely shit game. But we did get to sit in like $400-500 seats for only $20 hahaha winners!

OMG its the subway it survived September 11.

Central Park

Yay! Sex on a rock. The first of many used condoms through NYC.

Best afternoon ever.

Best duck ever.

Best pond ever.

Best party ever.

Best lake ever.

Best apartment block ever.

Pretty much the best fucking park ever.

HAHAHA - NYPD's equivalent to the Segway. So lazy they don't even need to thrust their hips forward to move.

Guiggenhiem Museum which we did not enter as we have NO FUCKING MONEY.
Thanks DSLR.

Amazing $6million Upper East Side Terraces.

The Church with Free Books. I think it was more of an 'exchange' system... ehh!

Back into the Best Park Ever.

Best algae bloom ever.

Mother you are totes taking me on one of these at Christmas =D

Finally another tourist with some mad skillz.

Jealous.

The Sheep Meadow.

Extremely beautiful Church near Columbia. Except it cost like $8 to go into (rip) what happened to religious asylum?

Columbia Library. How shit house is Curtin.

The streets of Tribeca and SoHo.
Oooo yeah fun facts NYC doesn't name their districts because of any other reason than geographical locations. For Example:
Tribeca - Triangle between Canal
SoHo - South of Houston
Nolita - North of Little Italy

YES! I almost forgot NYC is the smelliest city in the World. No Joke worst than Azn  cities! There is rubbish piles like this all over the city its ridiculous. This combined with the large amount of dogs living in apartments (hence piss and shit stains all over the sidewalk) equals one smelly smelly city. Top Tip: Breathe through your mouth in NYC and you'll love it!

Stumbled upon a September 11 Memorial. These are soldiers shoes who have been killed in the Middle East to date 600.

There was also a protest to how American Soldiers treat prisoners/suspects/civilians.

Shoes of dead Afghanis civilians.

Then the friendliest Squirrels ever!

So super cute!!!

This is what 89c will buy you in NYC.

Flea Market.

NYU.

Billions & Billions - ewwwwww.

The craziest Halloween Shop! Any ideas on what we can go as for Halloween - comment this blog!

For Chris. All your dreams will come true in NYC. They glad wrap the shoes so peoples greasy maccas hands can't damage the leather.

Just walking the streets from 1st to 103rd avenue. Only the entire Manhattan Island.

Empire State.

Public Library.

A Church we walked into during a 9/11 Memorial.

Typical NYC Scene - cabs, rickshaws, subway vents, flags, church, super old beautiful buildings.

Bendel's!!

It's Tiff Bitch - the original.

Dreams in Black. Only $4600 in the USA =O except black is sold out =(

The Waldorf Astoria.

The Chrysler Building. So pretty!

Grand Central Station. Security was super tight in here - AK47s, sniffer dogs, Marines, Cops - you name it Grand Central had it.
The Market Place.

Times Square.

Totes going here for Christmas Dinner - yeeeeeeah!

Oh yeah it was Fashion week and we saw Kim K. We also got interviewed for MTV Style so watch out for us! It was super awkward.

Ok so we went to the IKEA store because they have a free water taxi that has beautiful views of the Manhattan Skyline. Turns out this IKEA is identical to the Perth store. No kidding the exact same layout and design!

Chopped my hairs.

Side Note - I got a DSLR, yay! Except the photos are all 18 megapixels so I had to super compress them to upload them hence the quality when enlarged.

Longest Post Ever for the Best City in America. We didn't want to leave so much amazing food, bars and totes made friends. Cannot wait for Christmas here!
More to come from Cape Cod.
xx
