Ahhhh New York City it feels good to be back! Except for the fact I'm carrying a 40pound backpack, camera bag, ikea bag of crap and a 60kg bag with broken wheels. Not to mention I'm too poor for a cab so I'm catching the subway from 42nd Street to Brooklyn. Hi-5 to taking up 2 seats and not being obese. Not to mention I partied waaaaaay to hard in Toronto the night before (dressed as a cheerleader) and was extremely hungover/tired. Lets just say with a start like that the next 7 days didn't have to do much to make me feel amazing.
But Oh My Gawdness (full words to stress excitement) a comfortable bed, good food, a clean shower, numbered streets, the best public transport system in the world and last but not least:
A MOTHER
Definitely made that horrible journey was already worth it; and I'd only been in NYC for a few hours.
The reason this post was so delayed was due to the fact my darling mother loves to just wander and take snap shots hence I was left with 800photos to sort through, edit, crop and upload. So Here is what happened for the next 7 days.
Little Italy
Ferrara Ice Cream and Cakes, Cobbles Stone Streets, Cannoli, Cupcakes, Pasta. What more could a carb loving girl want: excessive Christmas decorations.
The other plus of this return to NYC was that I got to head to all of the sights which LC and I missed out on.
The Flatiron Building:
The Streets of Lower Broadway:
For anyone who hasn't been to NYC - the Jews run this town. Word on the street is if you're not renting from a Jew, you're not living in New York City.
Cutest Fattest Squirrel I have ever seen!
Typical Tourist: DOOR MAN PHOTO!
Obvs I was with my Mother so we had to go in so she could buy assorted condoms and sexual paraphernalia for her besties & my baby brother (barf).
Grand Central Station (Round Two):
Mummy Bear rather successfully avoiding being run over.
Grand Central Market (joyous!)
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
aka The Met aka Blair Waldorf's First Kingdom.
It was pouring with rain s I couldn't get my photo on the steps =(
Whoever marries me. I want this when I'm 50, k thanxxxxxx!
Engagement Present.
The would-be perfect postage stamp collection:
Dali. Probably will never get sick of looking at this genius' paintings for hours ever. His museum that LC and I went to in St Petersburg, Florida was AMAZING.
This thing had a button you could step on and it moved.
Oh Andy & Jacqueline!
Jackson Pollock. So extremely huge.
Coolest thing, I am doing this in my house. Anyone else does this, I will use this blog to prove I shotgunned it and then smash your walls with a sledge hammer. I'll do it.
Open one of these pictures big and check out what this is made of. Someone had more free time than I do.
The Beautiful Georges Seurat.
Party By The Lake Miniature!
WINNING AT DEATH!
Poor Vincent: only one ear and credit after death. Tough Life Mannnnn.
The Brooklyn Bridge at near-Sunset.
Side note: Mother this is the shot I wasted all that time on.
Cruise up The East River
If I played Golf & lived in NYC, I'd be here every Sunday.
The new World Trade Centre. 10 years and still not finished, pretty shit house effort really.
The Jersey Shore.
Lower Manhattan.
Old School Financial District & the Coast Guard.
Wall Street & the Cathedral.
Underneath the Brooklyn Bridge.
The less famous Williamsburg Bridge.
Williamsburg Bridge & the Projects.
Midtown & the Empire State.
The Chrysler Building. Definitely the most attractive building in NYC.
Empire State.
View down 42nd Street.
Apparently this old Domino Sugar is being converted to apartments #dickheadswithmilionstospare.
Madison Square Garden aka the arena the Biebs sold out.
Chelsea Market.
Typical America: person on a gofer due to being fat.
Totes got me a $6 meat pie at the market. Such a rip.
So Brooklyn Christmas decorations:
Top of the Rock
Mother, nawwwww!
Bottom of the Rock
There was sooooooooo many people here. It was ridiculous, stayed for about 15minutes and then ran all the way back to deserted Brooklyn!
The Empire State
Stupid Chuck Bass left before I arrived =(
Looking Downtown from the Empire State.
The Chrysler.
Couldn't decide on a version of this image so you get both.
The Hudson River & the Jersey Shore.
Seasons Greeting from the Empire State Ya'll
The East River and Brooklyn.
The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA)
Probably the best way to end and amazing week in NYC. With the crowds of Times Square and the Art Worlds most famous paintings outside of the Louvre.
She made this by shotting rounds at bags of paint. I'm totes doing this one day.
Cropped the sculpture is pretty big -- its paint brushes in acrylic.
Andy & Marilyn.
Gross. I can feel fur in my mouth.
Dali - the persistence of time. This painting is the size of a A4 piece of paper, so delicate.
Monet - Water Lilies, the original and the best.
Picasso.
Starry Night - Van Gogh. The crowds around this painting were INSANE but its for a good reason so amazing to see it in real life.
Darling Cezanne.
And that is finally the end of New York City Round 2. It really is an amazing place and I'm going to miss it. Though I could never live there but, visiting once a year would be a luxury I could definitely indulge.
Last but not least a shout out to my darling Mother for coming and celebrating Christmas with me. Without her all of this time in NYC would have been horribly depressing and lonesome. So THANKS MUMMY for wasting thousands of dollars to come be with me, love you like NYC =)
xx
