Ahhh the land of Chowdah in which I didn't even eat any Chowdah (I had some in Cape Cod which is still New England so what of it?!) But seriously this stuff is everywhere along with everything else seafood. Below is Quincy Market which is filled with the best of the best of every single food (greek, italian, american, chinese, new england, sweets & treats). We spent lunch here quite a few days whilst we were at our hostel down the road, it was amazing!
This is Mike's Pastries, probably the most famous bakery in all of Boston - those are the Lemon Cupcake & Boston Cream Puff.
Cream is aka Custard. It was pretty good but the chocolate was too thick & the cupcake was subpar. Though we found an AMAZING cupcake shop which I didn't photograph - I had a CHerry Bomb which is a chocolate cupcake with a hole filled with slow baked cherries topped with chocolate icing and cherries. It was the best cupcake I have ever eaten, and considering I've put on 5kgs that is alotta cupcakes!! If anyone is ever in Boston its on Salem or Hanover and Cross Street and its Pink Shop. Somewhere near this intersection:
Down at the North End Pier.
That's the Boston Monument (aka a smaller version of Washington Monument - not sure who was first - probably Boston)
This is the inside of a old italian bakery in the North End where we got the most amazing bread from a 60/70 year old italian Mumma who had baked it that morning!
The Holocaust Memorial.
The Freedom Trail aka 3miles of Bostonian History filled with Senior Citz. We were officially the youngest people on it that day bar grandchildren. The first stop on the Freedom Trail (after Boston Common where it begins) was the 2nd State House....
House of Reps.
Very sophisticated voting system - enlarge this one.
The Prized Cod.
Second, Third, Fourth & every other stop: Grave Yards with illegible grave stones... AWESOME!
Grace- totes canvassing this one too.
I think this is City Hall, if my memory serves me. Then THIS happened...
HAHAHAHA This guy thought I was so hilarious so made his wife take a photo of him, amazing senior citz.
The 1st State House. It was deemed too shit small.
Other Market next to Quincy which is actually just office blocks - gay.
Inside Faneuil Hall. Stop number like 50 of boredom.
The North End Church - pretty sure the 1st Church in America.
The Oldest 'Afloat' War Ship in the World - the US Constitution.
The Water Barrell dahhhh! Not a suggestion box or bingo ball holder...
The beds which housed about 450 men at one time, the ceiling was too low for anyone over about 5'4"ft to stand under. Below is us being stupid tourists...
Though this was not the funniest part of the day. Lets just say a comment card, a guy named Kyle & excessive boredom created a situation.
Ze Momument the LAST stop on the Freedom Trail.
Thats the North End Church in the distance. Fun Fact! during the Revolutionary War between Britain & America this Church was used as a beacon to warn the Americans in Charleston that the British were planning to march into some town north of there or something anyways it was totally key to the American's winning.
Boston Common (the first park in America):
So fricking cute!!
COLLEGE FOOTBALL.
OMGZ this cheerleader was running late and ran across to her fellow cuties, then 2 did front flips just standing on the ground (impressive) then she tried and fell FLAT on her face. Most probably broke her nose, open to see blood!!! It was super disturbing to see, poor thing =(
A-rod got wayyy into the game =|
Totally managed to stalk some cheer leaders down and get photos - they told us we were direct quote "omg you guys are soooo cuteeeee" PS this is the only brunette cheer leader in the squad =|
HAHAHA UMass got mad piss. Luckily we were supporting BC.
This is both teams total, seriously how many players do you need!!
Harvard (the first university in America):
Tried to break in here, didn't work out.
The Coop - this is the most merchandise I have ever seen! They have EVERYTHING you could name with Harvard Logos slapped on it.
Totally buying one of these for my Curtin Degree.
Just a few mugs.
Small range of Hats.
The Harvard Lawn! Jealous!
OMGZ it's Pooh Corner!!! At Harvard!!!
Oh yeah also in Boston we moved into someones house for a few days - Couch Surfing. It was actually pretty amazing free accommodation with our own room. There were some other surfers there too, the best one being a professional balloon maker. Here are a few of the creations....
And that my friends is the city of Boston aka the city where all of America's cherries got popped.
Loves from Toronto.
xx
